Snakefinger’s an enigma.
Well Dang! Productions is making a documentary film about Philip Charles Lithman (aka “Snakefinger”), including never-before-seen-or-heard material and stories.
But you might have some stuff that could be invaluable, so please help us tell his story by sending us any audiovisual materials you have!
What We Need
Video/Film
- Films / high quality home video of Snakefinger (and/or) The Residents in action in the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s (8mm, 16mm, etc.)
- Copies of live television broadcast footage (nothing currently published on YouTube, unless you own it) with detailed information about origin.
Photo
- Your high resolution photos of Philip and/or The Residents from the 1960s-1980s (that you own)
- High resolution scans of ticket stubs/posters/ephemera
Audio
- High quality soundboard/multitrack recordings of live concerts from the 1970s – 1980s (that you or someone you know recorded, no need to supply bootlegs)
- Audio recordings of Philip talking (that you own)
We can also always use leads on who to contact for any of the above!
What We Don’t Need
Please do not send us any material that you don’t own or did not photograph / video / record / capture yourself, such as:
- Additional Audio / Photo / Video you grabbed from the Internet
- Blurry or low-resolution photos captured on your phone.
If you have something rare or special that you aren’t sure about, please contact us.
Undigitized Media
If you have materials that haven’t been digitized (photos, slides, film, audio tapes), we are willing to cover the cost of digitization. Reach out to us and we can discuss how best to accommodate this.
